Considering that next day shipping is actualy 2 day shipping where I go to college, I doubt they will ever offer that here. It would be nice for ordering textbooks that you arnt sure you need till the day your teacher assigns homework though, though I doubt you can buy used items with next day.

Well, as a bookseller, I suppose I'm glad this isn't coming to my town yet. But as a frugal reader who uses his library for newer books and Stanza on his iPod for free older books, I'm having trouble seeing the point, except for those times when you need a gift "right now." It seems almost as if amazon's physical brand is competing with its "download anywhere" kindle products.

Whats the pricing this service? Not that I live in any of those cities, but I would order EVERYTHING from Amazon if this was free.

Unless same day shipping is free, I don't see how this will keep me away from a brick-and-mortar shop.

I guess it depends on what it is that you are looking to buy. As long as its pre-packaged and you've done your homework, no need to handle the item etc this could be a big draw.

I have a Kindle and enjoy reading books on it so I get the "same day" offering by default using this tech so the same day idea would only appeal to non-book purchases.
