I assume the heat from the bulb will increase the temperature of the “Lamp shade” and wouldn’t that increase the impedance, giving rise to more heat and so the cycle is repeated untill it all ends up in the oldest form of man-made illumination :-)
Maybe there are more heavy duty extension cords that you can use like that, but I'm betting they cost more money, and I probably bought the cheaper one.
