"Either way I don’t think Nintendo had imagined that Sony PS2 would still outsell their Wii."
How difficult is it to understand, Wii and PS3 are not competing in the same arena. People that buy Wii are not typical gamers, they would not have been buying PS3 (not for many years anyway).
If you want to compare Wii against something, compare it against the 7 year old PS2, which is outselling Wii. Sony are competing against the 360 with the PS3, and it's quckly clawing back it's lost year.
What's most worrying, is that it seems any old idiot can start a blog about gaming, claiming to be an expert.

It's kind of hard to deny (though some are making a great effort) that PS3 sales figures are well behind the Wii and 360. (http://www.vgchartz.com/) Why that is I don't know, but I'm sure the PS3 will soon find a killer title/price point that will help its sales numbers. It's great that the PS2 is still selling well, but it's also very obvious that every person who bought a PS2 has not felt it necessary to upgrade to the PS3 as of yet. Again, I don't know the exact reason why, but they just haven't, or the PS3 would easily be ahead when it came to sales.
And I'm not sure what makes someone a gaming 'expert' but I've been a gamer since the C64 days and have enjoyed titles on every single console that's come out since then. I guess to be an 'expert' I need to pick a single console and pretend that anything else that tries to compete with it has no merit and is not worth buying. No matter what any crazy 'facts' might claim.
