Why, they should be lynched! Yea! Anyone who can't type should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail! Hey trash collector! Why haven't you learned to type yet? Are you really that busy removing our trash so we can enjoy clean streets and sidewalks? Hey you! Yea, the guy laying the concrete! Shouldn't you be in the house learning to type? And you the guy working on the high voltage wires 70 ft up in the air, we'll handle that electricity, you just come down and learn to type!

I think I've made my pernt.......

Its about time. I hope you guys DO realize the QWERTY layout was in fact devised to slow typing speed down so that typewriters would not get the little impact arms tangled. An alphabetical layout would in fact increase typing speed for everyone and would make more sense in the digital age. QWERTY is antiquated and needs to go away.
    for reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTY

Do they really think that by changing the order of the keys to alphabetical is going to magically move them from hunt&peck to proficient? I dont. Good typing skills dont come from key arrangement they come from knowing where keys are in relation to each other. Changing that order is going to be counter-productive to any long term learning. Practice on a standard layout is the only thing that will benefit someone serious about improving their typing skills.

And if I really cared that much about someone elses poor typing skills I would go out and buy them Dragon Naturally Speak software and all they would need to do to type is speak into a microphone. You could practice typing for 100 years and you still wont type faster than you can speak into a microphone.

finally, gizmodo is stealing from you guys! except it's their crappy article that made it to digg (but with you guys credited :)
  • dponce80 · 4 months ago
Yeah I noticed that. We don't make it on digg very often anymore.
Sucks. But it's ok when oter sites "steal" from us. It brings some
traffic at least. More so when digg is involved. :)

i cant seem to keep my head up i always look up and down while typing but i never hesitate to press a key and i always know where im going and im pretty fast at typing i dont think that ,that is considered as stubborn since everything gets done fast enough..although i wanted to know if anyone else instead of resting there fingers on the home row keys rests there wrists on the desk so there fingers arent touching the keyboard but are kinda hovering over the homerow keys.....i think its just my strange habbit cause no one i no does it..but yea.......
