One side includes equipment for rowing exercises, cardiovascular activities like running or jogging as well as an endless pool for swimming stationary laps.

Re: AquaFit 19DT – Exercise Machine And Hot Tub In One

I looked into several of these - I ended up going with the Endless Pool. It costs about half as much as the pool pictured here. The cool thing is that it is totally modular so I could install it in my basement - all the pieces fit through the door. I mean it doesn't get up[to hot tub temperatures - but I am using it for swimming not relaxing.

http://www.EndlessPools.com

Re: AquaFit 19DT – Exercise Machine And Hot Tub In One

Apparently each section has its own separate filter system. So at least sweat from one side won't be mixed with sweat from the other. But based on the general consensus here I guess I should abandon my plans for a hot tub/kitchen combo?

Re: AquaFit 19DT – Exercise Machine And Hot Tub In One

yeah i second jonathan's point- this thing must be a cesspool of ick, unless they over chlorinate it, then it's just a vat of chemical burn for anyone with sensitive skin. was there a particular need to mix working out and hot tubbing??

Re: AquaFit 19DT – Exercise Machine And Hot Tub In One

Okay, this is something that happens normally when you sit in a hot tub for too long, but with the added amount of physical exertion going on, can you *imagine* how much sweat is going to be mixing in with that water? Not to mention if someone "has to go" and doesn't feel like drying off...

But if you just keep your head above water and have a shower nearby, well, I guess this is a cool gizmo. Otherwise... ick. Seriously. =P
