Experience has shown that the kitty bed would become a holder of, say, cups or papers or something, while kitty continued to sleep on my keyboard, on my *hands* as I try to type, etc...

Cute idea, but I think my cat would still probably insist on napping on my keyboard. ;)

Put some important looking papers in that bed, make it look like an in box, and be sure to pick the cat up and move it elsewhere the first couple times it plops down. Voila! You won't be able to get them out of the damn thing. Yay for cats.
