The post office accidentally damaged the item but I immediately got a replacement from the store (for FREE). Great service, highly recommended! Enjoy the fruit as did I! I tried it and for me it really worked. No headache and full of energy. Really cool.

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Miracle Berry Tablets Mess With Your Tastebuds

You can get miracle fruit tablets at www.miraclefruitworld.com . More disturbing is, giveaway phrases such as these are only the tip of the iceberg. The vast majority of manipulative advertising - and thus the most lucrative - always tries to stay juuust below the waterline of customer attention. It's amazing how quickly the markets can adapt to more subtle forms of deception once there is a need for it.

In this case however it's perfectly legit to use the word "miracle" in the product description since it's indeed part of the proper common name of the fruit. (Incidentally, speaking of funny protein names that end in "-ulin", there's also "draculin", found in the saliva of vampire bats.)

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Miracle Berry Tablets Mess With Your Tastebuds

I am what you would call a picky eater, but I don't like that name, I don't choose what I think tastes good, and it does change over time,

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Miracle Berry Tablets Mess With Your Tastebuds

i dont care if it tastes good, drinking a glass of vinegar HAS to be horrrible for your health

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Miracle Berry Tablets Mess With Your Tastebuds

It's called "miracle" because the cause of the reaction is a protein called miraculin, which binds with the taste buds and acts as a sweetness inducer when it comes in contact with acids.

An interesting, recent article in the NYTimes about it: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/28/dining/28flav...

Re: OhGizmo! » Archive » Miracle Berry Tablets Mess With Your Tastebuds

Actually, it works. Miracle berries really exist.
