The writer clearly never really used cassettes. Anyone who did back in the day knows that compared to any and all mobile audio equipment of today, none can take as much beating, torture, sand, water os what have you to both hardware and media as the trusty old cassette.

$40?? I don't know where the writer of this article was looking, but if you go to eBay, a brand new one can be had very cheap (I bought one a few months back).

In general the player in itself not bad, but here with design is a little at founders it has not turned out.
