    this technology has been around and is already commercialized. friend had this installed infront of his plasma tv so when the tv's off, it's a mirror.

    cleveland science center has had something like this for years. i do believe theirs involves a light that turns on/off to cause things to either reflect or pass through the window. I'm not exactly sure how, but it is pretty neat.
