David, thanks for the write-up.
You are right about the little pump in the base, although I am not sure where you were going with the sponge idea? The concept behind it is really simple - it had to be from a manufaturing point-of-view. There are some video clips on the Agitor website if you want to see how it works.
You are also right that the concept hasn't been taken to production yet. However, that doesn't mean that the technology hasn't been proven - it has. A lot of time has gone into getting the design right and many prototypes produced. The system works well.
