I think I'll pass on the strangulation hazard and just go ahead and check my kid on my usual schedule.
By the way, my usual schedule is to poke the diaper every hour or so and if it's soggy, I change it.

I don't see how knowing that a baby's diaper need to be changed takes a computer to figure out. If it is that hard for you to know maybe cloth diapers are the way to go. There are enough ways for a child to harm themselves without sticking a wire down their pants.
