It was the first time I had seen this variant as well. I'm sure that due to its smaller size we'll start seeing it edge out miniUSB on portable devices, but while we're in this transitioning phase, most people are only going to have one or two that use it, if any. That's no fault of Mophie, as the more companies that begin using it, the more common it will become.

Nope -- he has miniUSB cords, which is what most people use. The port is microUSB, which is different. The Kindle uses it, as do the newest blackberries (Bold and Tour) but it's still pretty rare.
