Sooo.... from wat I can tell you need a speical viewer to see the 3D images, "Fujifilm 3D Photoframe" this isnt like an exe or anything this is a SCREEN. I think standard pc screen is incapable of producing the 3D. The reviewer didn't have this screen so it isnt a real revew. I'm sure the UI sucks is fuji, but this is like if you gave the NES a bad review because you didn't know you would need to buy carts

Yes, it is kind of the same retarded mentality. Now, there are many ways to view 3D graphics, videos or photographs. Some use glasses, some need software, some only require the use of your naked eyes! all you need to do is just to find out the information on how to achieve it. I'm glad I did not believe that review was valid, because I am very pleased with the results of the W1. Thew jpeg pics do not have the same quality of my Sony Alpha 700 produces, but they are very acceptable for a 10 megapixel compact.

I posted a reply to the above "comments" on the blog site and I guess the writer didn't like my comments and deleted them. The above type of comment reflects some of the mentality that would have kept mankind in the dark ages. Any new technology has to start somewhere. This technology is groundbreaking as is the Fuji 3D. I worked with Olympus when they launched the 200 and 300 cameras. The nay sayers were everywhere. Had we listed to them, we'd still be using film. Especially the comment "Avoid this camera at all costs" is infantile. Babies don't pop out of their mommies all educated and cultured in case Liszewski isn't aware of the facts of live. There are many, many who are thrilled with the results in spite of the first generation limitations. Those will be overcome.

Thanks for clearing up just exactly what kept man in the dark ages .. the nerve of those medieval bloggers. Someone should round them up and inquisition them .. oh wait, they already did that.

Unless youre blind the jpg pictures coming out of that fuji absolutely stink and regardless of the completely proprietary fuji 3D option the camera should be able to take decent jpg's. If its not able to do that its only going to look crappy in 3D which Im pretty sure would look just as bad. When MPO files can only be played on a fuji digital frame what are you going to do .. carry one around with you everywhere you use the camera? Do you have room next to your Betamax and HD-DVD?

Thank jeebus bloggers like to tell it like it is instead of reaching shoulder deep into a 55 gallon barrel of suck and pretending like they pulled out some unrefined gem. If your going to bother making groundbreaking 3D technology why surround it with a total crap lense and CCD?

If you don't like (or understand) 3D then this camera is not for you. I bought this W1 from a website in Japan, and I am extremely pleased with the results of both video and stills. And no, you don't need any special gizmos to see the 3D results. There is a freely distributed piece of software that can be used to view the results in the PC monitor that you already have, it is called StereoPhotoMaker. Regarding the quality of of the jpeg's, well the reviewer admitted poor lightning when he tested the camera. I guess it goes without saying that any compact camera would give crappy results in the same situation.

I think the reason why your comment was deleted was because by now he is overwhelmed with the negative responses about his uneducated/inaccurate review of the W1. Maybe I am wrong, but I don't know why would any serious website would allow posting a review about anything that he/she has no knowledge about.

Of course when you are a big cahoona on a site like this, you can post any crap you want and delete anything you don't want. I am a moderator on a few sites and am always careful never to abuse that power. Lets see how long THIS post stays up. lol.
Since the original post, the overwhelming consensus from technologically advanced users has been strongly positive. No doubt in a few years, 3D technology will stand beside if not supplant 2D technology as this technology improves.
