Popular Mechanics just tested this stuff. It was the worst of all the duct tapes they tested. Gorilla Tape was the best.

We do have transparent Aluminum. It's called Aluminum Oxide. It's already used in watch faces. It's just hard to mass-produce. Cool tape!

Yeah, it still has those white fibers that give it strength. Not so noticeable with just one layer of it but after a few layers its white tape not transparent.
