Well, unfortunately it seems that I haven't been deemed worthy enough to get an actual review unit from Cuisinart. So I'm not able to compare it against the original model in terms of size or benchmarks. But I've heard a disturbing rumor that the Ice-45 can only be used to make chocolate ice cream. What the crap is that? What if I want to make vanilla or strawberry? Hopefully some clever chef will find a workaround so that it can be used with other flavors.

Andrew, I've been waiting for this second gen version, but I NEED to know before I buy- can I get it in black or is it only in white??? This is VERY important to my business. Also, it seems to be a little bit thicker than the previous model, I have to know complete dimensions right away, please provide them. And finally can you please benchmark it against the previous model IMMEDIATELY so that we can make better informed purchasing decisions? If it is not 2x faster I'm not sure anyone would buy it, IMHO.

I'm just happy they switched to a flush mount cone holder. I was tired of having to use a third-party cone adapter when I wanted to use my own ice cream cones. Who wants to use the included Cusinart cone?
