Seems a little bit expensive and gimicky (you can probably get a similar USB drive for a lot less), but it's still technically impressive.

How long have you had these drives? Cheap flash drives from China like those sold on eBay are notorious for being DOA, or simply working very, very poorly.

If you read the original product page, it's pretty clear that there is no built in memory. What you're buying is a thumbnail MicroSD card reader with a bundled 16GB MicroSD card. Not quite as impressive.

I bought one for €2,- at dealextreme.com. The 16GB SD card costed €20,-.
It's amazing how it is so small, but can read micro-sd, sd and about 3 other cards.

This is already obsolete. I have a 32 GB USB pen drive I bought on eBay for $49.95. A few months later, I found a 64 GB one for under $30.00. WHy would I pay $160 for a hard drive that is less reliable, less rugged, and with smaller capacity?

True, but this one already has 16GB built-in. You can add another 16GB MicroSD card for a total of 32GB if you wanted.
